Wednesdays, December 4th & 11th 12pm-2pm (Explore Brookhaven Boardroom) – Beginner American Mah Jongg with Rocket Mahjong
Learn the American version of the fun, challenging, social tile game, Mah Jongg, in a two session beginner class which will cover:
· A brief history of the game.
· The game equipment (racks, pushers, tiles, mat).
· Identifying the tiles (craks, bams, dots, dragons, winds, flowers and Jokers).
· How to read the card of winning hands published annually by the National Mah Jongg League.
· The setup, rules and terminology of the game (including washing tiles, breaking the wall, doing the Charleston, calling a discard).
· Variations of play with 2-5 players.
· Scoring and betting.
· Basic strategy.
· Some etiquette and bad habits to avoid.
· Online resources and game platforms.
· Lots of practice playing!
This course is $95 and includes two weeks of learning and gameplay.
